One after another

It has been a week since I returned from Tioman. Unfortunately things has not turn out well for me .My teeth and gums ached right after the last dive and lasted until Tuesday. Couldn't even chew on food - at all.

The pain eventually went away. However, I started to have pain in my left ear on Wednesday. On Thursday after noticing it got worst, went to my panel clinic and was informed that there might be ear infection. So I was on painkiller again and antibiotics .

On Friday evening, the pain was still there and the pain killer seemed not to be working on me anymore. It had now affected my left jaw and causing a bad pain everytime I chew or move my mouth. I decided to call Bakawali for advice and went to see a friend who is also a doctor , on Saturday evening. From both,it was confirmed that I got a minor DCS. And I was told that my tonsils was swollen too. To avoid it getting worst and to reduce the pain, I was given 2 jabs for immediate measures - one for painkiller and the other was antibiotics.

I warned the doctor that I can't take jabs on my butt as I usually have complications right after that. The last time it happened was 3 years ago. BUT as a doctor and a friend, he thought I was joking and scared of needles.

2-3 mnts after receiving a jab each on both butts, I started feeling pain on my hips and legs. I couldn't even lift my legs to walk. It hurts like hell. My friend, the doctor, got panic as he saw I was struggling to walk and he knew that it was bad when I couldn't even stand straight and started crying in pain. He immediately asked the nurse to get some ointment/cream, and he helped me to the bed to lie down. He had to help me to roll over as the pain was unbearable and I can't even roll over on my own. With the nurse's help, he rub the ointment on the place where he gave the jabs and did some physio movement on my legs.

After about 20-30mnts, the pain subsided. It was a big relief for me. And I think for him too. I didn't know what actually happened exactly but I knew it was bad.

Thank god I was able to drive back after about 45mnts. I learnt another lesson - no more jabs for me on the butt.
If needed, then only one at a time.

For now, I am on antibiotics and pain killers. Let's wait for the next few days. So far, the pain on my ear is still there.

And to all , with or without pain - 'Selamat Menyambut Ramadhan dan berpuasa"

My version of a perfect trip

It was a trip well planned by Seademon. At first, it didn't occur to me as a crazy one because based on his plan, the whole group are supposed to go to Tioman either Wednesday night or Thursday night.

But as for me, I could only leave on Friday night. Left my car at Jazz's, got her brother to send me to the LRT station, took the LRT to Central Market and walked from there to Puduraya. (sounds familiar....) And when I arrived in Mersing at about 5am, then only I realised this was something that I hadn't done before. Travelling to a place which I am not familiar with.

And I was alone. Upon arrival at Mersing, lepak at the coffee shop in town near the roundabout, and settled for their so called famous nasi lemak ayam. Taklah sedap mana pun. At about 6am, I walked to the jetty. It was a different feeling. Others walked in groups, or a minimum of 2 persons, but I was alone. It is definitely true what people always say, the journey that matters most. How you would treasure it. The destination? It is always great ; especially when you know that your friends are there, waiting for us.

I was lucky as the ferry left much earlier than the scheduled 7.30am. I managed to arrive at Salang at about 8ish and joined Seademon for my 1st dive. Alhamdulillah.

And the dives - were awesome. No words could describe it. Totally a different view from Redang. At 26m onwards, the visibility was really good and there are still nice things to look at. The night dive was also great - managed to see a 'sleeping' eel and puffer fish.

What I've learned from this trip:

1. Even if I only have Saturday and Sunday off, I could manage to squeeze in for dives on the weekend. I've done it once, I can do it again.Definitely.

2. Got to learn how to control my breathing as I still have problems going down, at times.

3. Don't get panic. Settle one thing at a time. It was an experience being 'rescued' by a DM ;-)

4. To check my own things, on my own. Not to trust another person as he/she might overlook on it.

5. My close friends are my family. After 20++ years, this is a perfect family trip to an island. With ayah, ibu, adik beradik , what else can I ask for.

This was definitely a trip I've never dreamt of before.

And now, deep inside me, I know I am finally flying without wings. Alhamdulillah....

Ahhh...I can smell the salt water

I just loveeeeee the smell of the salt water/sea. My last visit to the beach was in March.
Tomorrow night, at about 12 midnight, I will be on the bus to K.T. Will be away until Sunday afternoon.

Hope to come back with cool pics and great memories.

Till then, don't be naughty when I'm not around, ok?

Am I ready for this? I've got butterflies!!!

Only 3 more days before I leave for Redang for my Open Water Dive. By Friday morning I will be there)

As I have written before, I started dreaming of diving since February 2003 when I went to Sipadan for the 1st time and started writing about it in this blog since 28th Oct 2005 which I wrote under the title "List of things to do". Not only that, the other thing which is in the list is swimming and currently I am learning that too ;-) And 3 years after writing about it, the time has arrived.

Excited?
Yes

Scared?
Yes

Nervous?
Yes

I wish I could share this moment with Habibi who continously encourages and supports me in achieving my dreams. Unfortunately he is thousand of miles away.

Even though he's not going to be with me, I will be wearing the wetsuit, mask & snorkel, the booties and also fins which he bought as a present for my birthday. That is a way for him to make sure that he will always 'be' with me.

I miss you, Habibi.

I'm all set to dive....

I started dreaming about scuba diving right after my holidays in Semporna and Sipadan in 2003 (thanks to AirAsia it was only RM120 return trip). But then, since I was a very obedient wife, therefore it just stayed as a dream.

After 5 years, my dream is coming true. Soon.
But this time, not only am I diving for leisure, I might need to dive for work purposes too.

Alhamdulillah, now I am ready.

Thanks to Seademon for the continous advise and assistance....

Thank you Habibi for your continous support and understanding ;-) I LOVE YOU

Step 3 and away....

Alhamdulillah, I managed to complete my 1st class this morning. At first I was so nervous. Things like when water gets into my mask and reached the nose, and when my ear drums feels like bursting when we did our 1st 'dive' in the pool at a depth of only 10ft made me panic. But after a while with the help of my instuctor, Major K*e, I handled it well. I'm looking forward to the next class on Wednesday. I should have done it 4 years ago.But then, things always happened for a reason. So, no regrets. Better late then never.

Next class is on Wednesday.

Do you know how much I MISS YOU?

Step 2

While I was driving to mom's place in Shah Alam this morning, it just hit me that I am NOT staying in Shah Alam anymore. Until end of last year, I've always tell others that no way I am going to stay outside of Shah Alam. I guess I changed my mind.

*********************************************

To answer to somebody's question, yes, I bought this unit. I owned an apartment previously with my ex, but I've sold that off to buy this one . Alhamdulillah.

*********************************************

And tomorrow, I'm proceeding to Step 2 - I'm starting my SCUBA class tomorrow morning. I can't believe after 4 years of putting it on hold, THIS IS IT. Under water world, here I come.

*********************************************

And all these good things happened with the help from Habibi. Even though he's not here with me, his spirit and love is always around and motivate me to move on. Oh! and yes, thanks Habibi for the 'monthly petrol sponsorship'......I LOVE YOU.

p/s: To a male friend who is going to meet his gf's dad, don't be too nervous. You are a dad to a few girls, as much as you want the best for your daughters, so does your gf's dad. Just go with the flow.

Step 1

After 4 years, at last, I've completed the 1st step.

I've contacted THE GUY to make an appointment to meet him this Saturday.

A BIG relief because the 1st step is always the toughest.

And now, I have butterflies in my stomach to proceed to Step 2 (that is to meet him)

On another note, last Monday, all Instructors were asked to go to the new swimming pool for a photo shoot. The completed swimming pool was still empty. The pool looks HUGE. Yeah - We actually took pics in it. I'm looking forward for it completion ...soon!
