My feet feels like dancing...

I went and watched 'Happy Feet' with a friend on Monday morning before work. Well, the good thing about working at 3pm is, I get to watch the cheap movies, movies that are shown before 12noon will be charged half price. So, we only had to pay RM6 for the ticket.
I guess I can't resist the temptation with that minimal price and after being locked in for 2 days.

My review - wow! the movie was really great...I mean for me. Mumble is really cute and adorable, and his friends the other 4 small penguins reminded me to our daily lives....the jokes that we played among each other. Its kind of musical , so its full of songs all the way. And it almost made me move my feet - like Mumble's!!

The after effect?......My colleagues were surprised to see me coming in for work at 3pm, happily without any 'Monday Blues'. And .....I almost danced at my workstation actually.

I feel like watching it again. Or get its DVD later. Happy Feet anybody?

Note: Oh...and after that I had a one on one appraisal/feedback session with my boss. Thank god I had watched the film earlier that day and I was in a really, really good mood so the 'constructive' feedback that I received didn't affect me at all. Thanks to Mumble!!

Pheww!!....

What a long weekend! Especially when I'm broke. 2 days feels like a week! However....its already end of Sunday. I look forward to go to work tomorrow as I've been locked up in my apartment since Saturday morning, right after returning from work. What a relief!

Anyway, I'm up to this project which I need to prepare a presentation for my girls which is due sometime in 2nd week of Dec. Not much time left, so, I made use of the 2 days spent at home, to go through some photos for the presentation, and found this photo.

And I tried putting watermark on it....(I've always wanted to do it!)

Can you imagine, they were trying to 'split' the thread to become a 4 mtr thread from 1 mtr which was given earlier!!

NOTE: Receiving a surprise phone call from somebody special also managed to cheer up my long weeked. Thanks dear!

Broke!

With budget allocated to spend about RM5 per day only

for the next one week,

I will have to manage this to survive

until pay day arrives

got to cancel all plans this weekend

and just stay indoors

which can also minimise

my petrol usage

Thank god I have Streamyx at home....
That will kill the boredom....
I hope so....

Finding my knight in shining armour

An old friend whom I met a few days ago, asked me," So, what are you waiting for?" Mr Perfect or a Knight in a shining armour to sweep you off your feet? I told her non of the above.

She said , the problem that she forsee with me is that I'm too warm and friendly even with strangers sometime. And that might give a various assumptions to people. People will enjoy my company and warmness but when they are ready to proceed to the next level - then they will find out that I'm just being me - warm and friendly nothing more than that. And she was right as I did experienced it a few times - especially with foreigners. No doubt that they do respect me, but they still do not understand our religion, culture and the values we strongly hold.

Well, I guess, can't blame them as some of our own people do not reflect the values and culture we hold. Its our own people who started it in the 1st place.

And that reminds me of another friend who saw the Srikandi and STF sticker on my windscreen.

My friend: "Were you from STF?"
Me: "Yes.! (Proudly...)
My friend: "You don't act like one."
Me: "What do you mean by that? Did I do anything wrong?"
My friend: " No..nothing.Just that you don't behave like one. I have some friends and they are totally opposite you"
Me:" Can you please explain?" (getting more interested as I was thinking that I've done something wrong..or maybe the way I dressed....knowing myself well)
My friend: "oh!! there's nothing wrong with you. Just that my friends are different"
Me:" Oh!...ok...."

I was stunned. I guess we are all adults. We know what is best for us. Maybe it's just the current lifestyle....

p/s I had the same conversation with a colleague of mine whom is a Christian - she also believes in the same thing.

Shots from a 3 year old.

These shots were taken by Alia, a 3 year old girl using my camera. I kind of like the results eventhough originally, she's supposed to take shots of the street lights and also the ones in the trees, along the road in Shah Alam. The result came out to be like this... After that, I tried taking a few on my own, but sad to say, I didn't managed to get it to be like this. I guess, there are some things a 3 year old does better....

Mission accomplished!

Yesterday, my plan went on smoothly despite of the heavy downpour in the afternoon in Klang Valley, as usual. In the late morning, I went and met Nalina, and old good friend, whom I first got to know her when I was working with company M.Oh..that was when I was 23 and she was 22. (Thats about 10 years back!) We sort of did not contact each other for the past 5 years.I guess both parties were busy with our own jobs and life (I know... no excuses should be given). She is still the same old person and still has the same look. Looks as if no changes at all...I mean does not look older....just wiser as now she is working in one of the toughest department in that company. We shared memories about the good old days, and how things have evolved, and also the current situation for both of us.

I also found out from her, one of my friend who is working in the same company in another branch, past away 2 days ago due to heart attack. It was a shocking and sad news as he was still young ..maybe about early 40's. Maybe its the work pressure as I've heard a few similar cases had happened before.I felt sorry for his family.

We only had about 2 hours to chat about everything - and times was so short, so we had to end it there and plan to meet again in the near future. I guess some good friends, knows, eventhough we've not been in touch, but we will always be there for each other.

I also managed to attend Ramlah's open house in Putra Heights. Ramlah was also in the same company in 1996. After both of us left, we lost contact and managed to get in touch again about a year ago. And only yesterday, we met each other after so many years. She's got 3 kids now and doing well with her own business with her hubby.

After that, I left for my cousin's place in UNITEN. She stays in one of the quarters. Food was good, the company was excellent. We are close but I have not met her and family for the past one year . I guess after the changes in my life, there's a lot of relatives which I've not met or maybe I was trying to avoid them until I'm up and running again. I need to make sure I'm ready for whatever is coming. And now, I'm ready for it.

The next house was Rahayu's. Well, her's was not exacly an open house but more of a pit stop or transit before going to Azlan's house nearby. Both of us were invited , therefore we planned to go together from her place. Had a great time with her daughter, who is 3 years old but speaking and acting like a 5 or 6 years old. She was all over me, and asking me to sleep over that night! According to her mom, usually she' s very cold and shy towards strangers but I guess I'm different.

The last house was Azlan's in KGSAAS. Done at the pool, with good food, simple but yet nice and inviting, we ended up meeting our ex-colleagues from Landmarks. It was a really nice mini reunion for us...catching up on each other's latest updates and also activities. Thanks to Azlan and wife for the invite.

The best part of the day? hmm.....when I decided to sleep over at Ayu's, she was willing to drive me to my apartment to get my things for today as I need a change of clothes. Well, Ayu was driving his hubby's car which is a brand new BMW 5 series. Guess what? All the neighbour's were looking at me when I came out from the car. Ayu had to wait about 10 minutes , and again, when I came down and entered the car, I noticed neighbours were being busybody, trying to catch the glimpse of me entering the car.

I told Ayu about it, and she also noticed the same thing. As we were driving out of the area, I received an sms . it was from my ex and it was written," Saya baru balik dr kenduri. Aik, cantik nampak? ". As guessed earlier - the sms proved our theory and we had a great laugh. I should get Ayu's help to do this once a week...just for the fun of it. And by the way, the windscreen was tinted - the neighbours and him didn't know who was in the car driving!!

A great judge

2 days ago, I got the chance to meet one of our seniors in the Alumni, DZ, who is a judge. What can I say, I felt I was really lucky to meet her in her office. She was such a sport and a sweet, petite lady, which made me feel like hugging her immediately after introducing myself.

It is true what they said, once an STFian, is always an STFian. Eventhough that was our first meet, I immediately fell in love with her as I feel the warmth as if she's like a sister and a mother to us. We chatted for almost 45 minutes-with me admiring her and her room. Well, that was my first time into a judge's room. And mind you , this wise lady handles criminal cases. Shelves of books were at all corners and wall of her room.We discussed topics about the cases she handled, the kids nowadays and also about drugs. It was really, really interesting. Especially when she mentioned so far, she had sentenced 4 people to death related to the drug cases. Time really flies. 45 minutes felt like 10 minutes. I would love to meet her again, and also might pop in to her court in the future to see how she handles cases.
This is definitely one great lady. I can't imagine how she could put aside her emotions for all the cases she handles.

And today, is one of the worst days in this month. Someone really hurt my feelings. No, not that I am in love with this person but more of the topics we discussed. And because of that too, the pain memories played as flashbacks in my head and lead to my heart feeling the ache. And now, at almost 4am, I'm still awake , pouring this out onto my blog so that I can start tomorrow with a fresh, new feeling! I hope my eyes are not swollen tomorrow. Arggghhhh....I really hate it when this happens.

Oh ya, tomorrow I'm meeting an old good friend, whom, both of us stop contacting each other since about 5 years ago until Raya this year. She was one of my ex-colleague in M earlier. Well, let's see how she looks like after 5 years.

Psychic powers here?

Do you wonder how sometimes another person at the other side of the world , thinks the same thing as you do?
For example...we chat, and he just said it out about it.What scares you is that you were just thinking the exact same thing about it an hour before that!!

Hmmm......someone did mention to me that sometimes our guardian angel talks to the person's angle especially when we really care for the person...somebody like our own family members. The problem is....I have never met this person before and we just got to know each for other for about a month only.

Anybody out there has any explanation on this?

The memories we share

Last night, I slept late again. Maybe because I know today I'm going to be working at 3pm only. My schedule have been either afternoon or night shift only for the past 2 months. Well, I've got no problem with that as I am actually very, very flexible. Unless otherwise, then I just have to inform my boss.

That's not what I want to write tonight. I was doing some spring cleaning with my CDs - only now I noticed I've got tonnes of CDs which contains photos for the past 3 years . A whole lot of it were taken when I was in Landmarks. And I came across a set of these photos which makes me smile... I guess since now is already Nov, its kind of taking a walk down the memory lane and trying to playback the video shots we have in our heads.
These were taken in the office and we chose to wear shades of blue (some of them are colour blind I guess....)

These were taken in back in Dec 2004. How time flies......

Smile please!!

Some of these photos were sent to me and others were taken some by friends. And I love the photos very much....it shows that we are all having fun in this world, in one way or another...

This was taken when we were on the job training in Ashford.....Those were one of the nights.

Jenny and a koala.Unfortunately the koala is shy...you can only see its bum...

Andrew during his crazy mood swing - I guess it ws too stressful for him.

Myself, Ammar and Miki from Cagers. They just finished their game....can't remember though. I think they won.

The sweet couple from India. Brojen - my beloved good friend with his girlfriend. Don't they look alike - like brother and sister? Oh..by the way, I got to know him from the net and we have been good friends for 2 years already!!

Another great night!

How can I ask for more when another dinner tonight, which I expected to be a boring one, turned out really great as well. 2nd night in a row, enjoying myself, smiling through out the dinner, even though this time, I was sitting with total strangers.

Tonight, the dinner was organised by Sek. Kebangsaan Subang Jaya celebrating its 25 years anniversary. I was given a seat by K.Ana and Abang Ise (as the PTA head) at the table they bought.Well, to tell the truth, I was not looking forward to go to a 'Primary School Charity Dinner'. Not knowing when I arrived just on the dot , that I was moved to a better table - the 1st row- just beside the VIP table. (its supposed to cost RM300 per seat!). Instead of seating with the people I know, this group was totally new to me, with 3 couples whom their kids are schooling there and a few of their children! Thank god they didn't ask me my kids are in which class!

Started off with excellent not too long, not too boring, with some jokes , speeches by the HM, Abg Ise and Dato' Lee Beng Hwa, there was also a launch of their interactive website.(I slept with my eyes open this part until one of the kid asked me questions) Then the show started off with Citrawarna dancers which was colourful and entertaining with their moves, then we had different groups of children performing, which are all multi racial.

The best was the performance by the 'Hot Moms'. They danced to the sixties tune - I couldn't believe my eyes how sporting they were! Shaking their hips and moving fast with the beat as if it was still in that era! My jaw hurt as I couldn't stop smiling looking at them, admiring how brave they are, compare to me-the chicken when it comes to stage performances. Then comes the teachers next. They were all sporting enough to do a malay joget, with the chinese teachers joining in too - wearing short kebaya with kain batek. I can't imagine if I were to force doing it. Its like doing a fear factor stunt.

There were a few singers who went to that school earlier, performed. Followed by Cheryl Samad who has a great voice and also later Joe Fizzlow with his rap songs which I can't believe I'm saying this - but it was good. Then the last was Francisca Peters ending the night performances. She looked great, young, bubbly and the kids just love her. With songs like Ooo lala Tropika, The Greatest love of all, Stand by me and one of her oldies....she captured the audience and also my heart.

What can I say, this school is different than other school, I guess. And their dinner - its much more better than our alumni dinner (the performances). I guess everybody is sporting enough to perform.

It was a great event. I managed to take a few minutes to reflect - I wouldn't have the chance to experience or to be part of this family and enjoy this moments if some things did not happen. Things might have been different back then. But now, thank to Allah, I have all this people around me who cares.

What can I say, 2nd great event for the short weekend......

Wedding of the year

Last night, I attended a wedding dinner of an ex-colleague when I was in Landmarks. He was actually my work partner - totally oposite than me, a quiet , boring guy, who was always reading and 100% sitting down facing the wall of his cubicle and laptop without noticing anything that happened around him. 3 years working with him , made me looked as if I was not giving 100% on my job as he was. I guess being an IT guy - he was also cold and heartless. And everytime he starts talking, like my ex-boss said - we had to refer to the dictionary as his words were....let's say that we do not use those kind of words in daily conversations.

The groom...

last night, I saw a totally new him. Well, we have not met for the past 1 1/2years after the retrenchment exercise. He's full of life now, fun, sporting, and all those other things that I can't describe here. He looked really good.

The bride...
Lovely, spontanious, sporting, very friendly, funny, and all the good things which I believed that what makes the groom who he is now...She completes him.

The wedding...
Held at a restaurant which I got to know it only holds private functions. Perfect ambience, great company (ex department mates were all there), good food (with oysters as starters....and salmon as main course....yummy...). It was also personalised - each of us received a personalised message at our seats - something that touched our hearts.

Thanks a million to Adam and Jo, I really had fun last night. The dinner was great, and as per my instict , knowing Sulip was to be the Emcee for the night, I just had a strong feeling that he would call us out and sing , and I was damn right. But, I had fun and a really, really great time. Well, that was my first ever singing performance for a wedding dinner, though. Thank god it was a group thingy. I have never attended a wedding dinner as fun as this before. It would definitely be one of the moments which I treasure.
Thank you.

Fitness test and Ikan Bakar

After being in Kuala Kangsar last weekend, its time for me to go down to JB now. This weekend, I will be there, with a mission to get the final namelist for my girls who are qualified to join the Return-2-Victory December Intensive Training Camp 2006.

I'll be finishing work at 0700hrs on Saturday, and will leave for Puduraya to catch my bus to JB at 0830hrs with Hana. If everything goes well, we should be there by 1330hrs and proceed for lunch and later the 1st training session will begin at 3pm. I plan to have a session at 1500 - 1630, 1700-1830, and then later 2100 -2300 for a discussion session.

Tomorrow should start with a morning run (I've not been doing this for sometime already-I also need a fitness test). Hopefully the weather permits, we'll have our selection session based on the fitness, skills and attitude shown by each individual players. Another session in the afternoon and that should allow me to achieve my mission.

The requirements are:

3 minutes skipping > 450
Suicide < 31seconds
Skills which include dribbling and passing the ball.

I hope my girls are ready - despite of just celebrating raya a week ago (knowing how they love food and the quantity they can eat )

Thank god I'll be in JB until Monday as I've sent my PC to be 'checked' and 'reformatted' by a friend. It has been giving me problem especially connecting to internet. (I was told it has nothing to do with Streamyx) . This will distract my attention from being too frustrated on not being able to go online or being at home without my PC there.

I'm also counting days to meet a new friend. A friend whom I just got to know and is flying over to visit Malaysia. I get to play as a tourist guide . I'm excited and nervous.

And about JB again- I can't wait to reach there as somebody promised me with the delicious "Ikan Bakar" tonight and I will also be meeting my cousins from Singapore.
