Island trip, friends, job, blog - That's a handful!

I've just finished packing. I don't need to bring lots of things but the problem with me, if I don't plan well, I would be bring half my wardrobe for only a weekend outing :-)

Will be leaving for Mersing midnight tonight, plan to eat sahur in Kluang and then take the 6.30am boat to Tioman. YES!! I'm going to the island again this weekend with Mr&Mrs Seademon and also Rina.

For me, this year's Ramadhan is a HUGE change than last year's. (so far lah up till today). I was not given a chance to be alone at all. Maybe for the 1st 2, 3 days. But after that, takde chance lansung. My boss, Fa*hana, just refused to let me go and buka puasa at home alone. Especially when I told her that twice last week, upon driving back home for buka puasa, I dozed off while driving! So from the next day onwards, she insisted that I buka puasa with her either in the office or at a nearby restaurant before allowing me to go back.
And the lovely Ayah & Ibu- SD& Jazz kept inviting for buka puasa sessions.

I guess Habibi is also happy and thankful that I don't feel lonely and sad. He's thankful to my friends for keeping me company . 34 more days to his return. I can't wait.

Meanwhile, my life at AA is getting busier each day. Other than being part of the Program Development team, my boss has also enrolled me into a "Ha*vard" certification program for Trainers which will take about 2 months to complete and it will start in the next 1 or 2 weeks time. It is an online program - knowing myself, I'm going to have a tough time completing it!

I also need to write and contribute to AirAsia's blog. (hehehe...haven't submitted anything yet). Oh, btw, I was going thru Tony's blog and found out that his next project is the Asean Basketball League! I am soooo excited!!

I guess there's a lot more for me in store. It is true - its not easy to stay positive but once you manage, one by one , things will fall in place, Insya Allah. I cold just pray that Allah gives me the strength to do all the things I love and enjoy. Amin.

It has been a week....

Latest updates on what is happening in my life and the things that I do:

- It's been a week since I started to drive 120km to work and return. This will go on until I get my new crib (hopefully another 1 more month only). I am not complaining at all as this is my dream job - to do training ;-)

-I have a big tin of Danone's cream crackers in my car - just incase I get hungry during traveling to and return from work

-I also have a box of dates in my car (thanks to my love) all the way from Saudi to make sure I have 'dates' everyday when he's not here. (the truth is; the biscuits are not enough)

- I have yet to be located/trained at the LCCT even though I'm working with an airline (I'm soooo looking forward to this). Well, I work in the academy.

-I'm still struggling to adjust myself to the 9pm-6pm work schedule. (I love the 3pm shift earlier)

-Habibi now has to adjust his time coming online due to my new sleeping hours.

-I also need to drink a box of either milk or soya bean every morning ; to prevent from getting 'gastric attack' (I had a worst one last weekend)

-By the time I reach home everyday, it is just nice for solat, dinner , check emails and sleep. I wish there are more than 24 hours in a day and more energy to do more things.I have friends complaining I'm busy ( sorry....)

-I soooo love my new job as it allows me to meet A LOT of new people and teach and share my knowledge. ( a job dream by people like Ardy, kan? a classroom full of girls...)

And I only have 4 more weekends to be with the girls before the Nationals. I know I can't be there during that time but the least I could do is to prepare them.

Dreaming the whole day

I don't easily have dream or nightmares. Hmm....maybe once a year, yes.
But my life now today was like a dream.
Thanks to God.
I am hoping and praying hard that this dream is for real and is here to stay.

My 1st day at job - was like a dream which I never dare to dream.
Will update more soon.
Once everything is settled and calm.
Promise.

A job ...somewhere up there.

Listen here girls. I came all the way from KL for this game. This might be the last game I 'coach' for this year as I've just got a job. A job that requires me to start this Tuesday 15th.

I cannot say no to this job as it is my dream job. Alhamdulillah. Memang betul ada hikmahnya on things that happened.

A job that gives me the priviledge to fly ......and travel more often after this. I hope....

Dynamites - Thank you for your prayers. I will make sure I'll find time to see you guys after this.

Peaceful for a while and happy later? Hopefully

I've been to a few interviews.

Good interviews.

Why good? I feel good after the interviews and enjoyed myself talking to the interviewers.

At some point, I've met 2 of the Directors of a company.

Until a friend asked - is it normal for people to be interviewed by the Directors?

I don't know.

Maybe its just the post that I'm applying for.

Maybe its that company's requirement.

Whatever it is, I had a good time meeting all these new people.

But for now, I'm tired.

I'm very, very tired.

Especially this morning I had to sit for a 2 hrs 'test' (which I did in 1hr 15mnts)

I really need a break from all these.

For next week, I just want to sit back for a while, breath in, and pray.

Pray hard to get one of these good jobs. (I owe some people leg of lamb if I do get a good offer)

Insya Allah.

p/s: Found out that Sa*m is still relaxing and will only start applying jobs next month onwards. I'm so jealous. I wish I could do that too.

I just wanna be here for a while. Aaahhhh......so peaceful.

The Last Supper

How can I be twice unlucky?
How can this be?
This is the 2nd time I've been 'released' from the place I worked.

The 1st time was really bad. Especially with the 'after effects' and this time round it definitely scares me.
I could just hope this is a blessing in disguise. I keep telling myself Insya Allah ada hikmahnya.
It wasn't easy to face it the 1st time, its worst when you have to go thru the 2nd time.

Habibi keeps saying that everything is going to be ok.
He said this time its different. This time, he's around.

Now, I just have to stay focus and try hard to think positive.

For now, I'm sad coz I know I'm going to miss the great guys I've been working with.

Praba and one of his 'pose maut'...

Me being persuaded to go for my last drinks session with the team.

These are part of the great team. They were all as shocked as I am.

Last pose - It looks more like a celebration that I'm gone though...;-)

History repeats itself

Today, Friday 7th March 2008, at about 10.30pm, a bad thing happened to me.
It might also be a blessing in disguise. I don't know.
I just have to wait and see.
But it really hurt me. Very much indeed.
Never before have I felt this way, treated this way by my previous's.

Like I've always said, money is not everything.
But when you compare me with a non-performer and someone who has problems in tardiness,
That is TOO MUCH.

Sorry to say, I believe you have made a BIG MISTAKE.
What makes me sad is I've performed, I've done more than others and I have to leave my 'brothers and sisters' behind.
But I will definitely be doing better than before, after this.

Trust me. I'll make you regret.

And no, you don't know me at all.

Sabar....

Ya Allah,

Kau makbulkan lah doa orang-orang yang teraniaya.

Amin.

p/s: This is the only way for me to bersabar everyday .....

Love in every......employee

A colleague of mine who is in my team has 'belanja-d' us these ice-cream - for the whole team , 10 of us.

Thanks Dean! It is definitely a surprise! Happy Valentine's Day to you too!

p/s: This is what we call a healthy celebration of Valentine's day among colleagues.

The Double 'V' situation

I've been feeling down lately. Really down.
Not because of my love life, but because of the place where I get my 'daily pot of rice' is not in a good situation. It is so demotivating me.

It is really demotivating until I don't feel like turning up. The only thing which still makes the place a fun place is the team that I have. They are a bunch of crazy, fun but hardworking people.
And I know I still have responsibility towards them. That what makes me going. And I am a professional. I have been performing and I promise to myself I will perform till the final day (hope not that soon).

From my experience, this is just a hiccup, a small challenge I need to face. Which reminded me of my experience in company M few years back. Not a good memory as a start, but the V(victory) after that was sweet. Really sweet. And my enemies, returned, to claim themselves as my friends. Why do I feel history is going to repeat itself? Maybe it is.
But until then, I just need to remind myself to remain calm and just stay professional - not giving any loopholes for mistakes. No. No way jose.

On another note, in 2 more days the 'V' day will arrive. Yes, the day that most couples celebrate all out, organise a 'special' occasion or dinner or whatsoever for their loved ones. Well, there are a lot of opinions about that out there however what my friends ( Bakawali, Ardy and SD) have written, is worth a read.

For me, everyday is a 'V' day. To add to that, last night, far from across the Pacific Ocean and Indian ocean, with the assistance from our so called YM Voice technology, Habibi literally, was on his knees, proposing to me , to be his special one, begged me to accept him as my special one for the coming years ahead.

I just wish at times that you are here with me , everyday. (I know you call me everyday without fail, but me being me...)

Thank you for the support, understanding and patience you have given me all these while, especially during my hard times.

I LOVE YOU HABIBI.

I wasted 2++ years !! Dang!

I don't have any words for it.
I was damn angry about it until I couldn't even talk or remember about it.
The moment it came back across my mind my eyes were teary.
Not to mention when my colleagues asked about it.
The experience was really bad.
How can you claim you are good when you cannot even relate my experience to my application.
How can you say that I have to start fresh again?
What about my contribution for the past 2+ years?
How can you say it is not fair to other people if we don't start from basic when in the 1st place itself, it is not right as there was no appraisal at all for the past 2 years!

I could actually see the 'good' thing of this exercise.
Unfortunately what I could say is yes, you are good in managing business really into business mindset thingy but you do not have people skills at all. Nothing.
And that is the difference with me and you.
I might not be the person who has the 'business mindset' but I am a people person.
And I am good in what I do.
Maybe it is just not for me - there must be a good reason.
Mesti ada hikmahnya....
So, thank you very much. I'm just taking the up the challenge for a 2nd one but not really into it.
I just want to get the opportunity again, to voice out my mind.

Thanks to Nur, I met her last night to cool down myself. If she had not insisted to meet me for dinner till midnight, I didn't know what I would have done, where I would've gone to. Because I was reall p*ssed off.

While waiting for our food....I wish I could swim in there to cool myself down.
I gobbled up everything and yet still feeling like eating. Dangerous eating like this.
Due to my persuasion, we visited this 'guy'

And ended up eating this....

Horoscope oh horoscope!

I met my boss today and had a 'one to one' and 'heart to heart' session with him.
When I returned home and log on to my FB page (I'm not that hooked to it as I kept ignoring people's punching, hugging and throwing, etc), I saw this was what written for my horoscope today.

"Saf1na,Even a small, genuine effort is better than not trying at all. You have a lot of explaining to do so you had better get to the point quickly. Beating around the bush will only help to intensify the situation. Your anger is causing you to become careless."

I'm shocked!Yes! I know I am taking a big risk.Somebody's gotta do it.

Another year has passed!

Hmmm....I just remembered....
Today is my 2nd year anniversary working in this company.

Happy anniversary to myself!!!

Worldwide dinner

This week , so far, has been an interesting week for me, for some of us in the office. The management had organised the 'regional meeting' for the bosses , this time round here, in the Malaysian Business Centre. So, we got the opportunity to meet the managers from the USA, Australia, South Africa, China and not forgetting our own Malaysia and UK directors.

It was stressful yet fun. Stressful because their meeting was organised just upstairs and because of that we had to squeeze all the agents to ground floor. And we didn't have enough PCs and even chairs. I had to use my laptop to work. (I told my boss I will charge him...hehehe)

Fun because we got the chance to meet the managers whom we only hear their voices all this while:- for me its more than 2 years. Sometimes, when I talk to them face to face, I just have to close my eyes for a while, to imagine and remember their voices. Then I know, its the right person. Well, let's say that work has not been easy for some countries and there are some hiccups here and there, a 'bit' of disagreement is a normal thing, and the 'feeling' has been building up for a while, but during the dinner everything turned out to be good.

The appetizer

The other table - Sam and Simon were definitely having fun.

Yeah, myself together with the other supervisors were invited to join the management for a dinner at the Bangsar Seafood Village yesterday. The food? Not bad but nothing to say 'wow'. The ambiance - ok..but at times, the 'awkward' moments arrived and all of just kept quiet and looked at each other. But most times, we were sharing our experiences with the managers from each country - how we love and hate the customers altogether.

The Malaysian team with the UK directors/owners of the company

All in all, work is tough, but the people we work with are really a great bunch of people. Things have definitely improved for some countries and obviously relationship improves too.

A big happy family - the Malaysian, Australian, ,Chinese, South African and American teams.

Pengakuan seorang 'Drama Queen' bah.2

Lega.....berakhirnya drama minggu ini. Aku rasa, masing-masing tahu yang aku dan dia berpura-pura. Mana taknya, masa makan malam 'pihak atasan' aku sebaga kuli atasan dijemput, dipaksa duduk semeja dengannya. Arghhhhh...

Ada masanya perit rasa.Sebab dahlah duduk mengadap, tak tau apa yang nak dibual kan. Aku pandang kau, kau pandang aku. Lepas tu pandang lain. Aku rasa semua orang tau, termasuklah kedua pemegang saham/empunya syarikat aku, tahu yang kami memang tak ngam.

Jadi, ikutilah skrip drama selepas ini.

Pengakuan seorang 'Drama Queen'

Aku dah cuba...tapi susah.

Almaklumlah ...minah satu negeri dengan George Bush. Lagilah aku benci.

Finding satisfaction (part 1)

I was reading Saturday's The Star and came across this article:

Finding Satisfaction at workplace

1) Be sociable with your colleagues
The better your personal relationships with co-workers, the more enjoyable work should become. Discuss interesting topic, listen to them, and offer to help them when they need it.

2) Try to establish mutual trust and respect with your supervisor

3) Learn exactly what is expected from you at your job.

4) Be organised
Good organisation eases a great amount of tension, which disorganisation always bring.

5) Keep your blood flowing
Take a break from the computer and find a place where you can practise some deep breathing , toe toughes or running in place

6) Be aware
At work the behaviour (the output) of an individual is the information stimulation (input) for another. Be certain your output is positive.

Hmmm...I guess got to reflect on how I'm doing right now. But I strongly agree with point no 1 - and currently, my colleagues are like my family.

Aku dah penat

"It's not whether you get knocked down. It's whether you get up again"
Vince Lombardi

Hari ni hari yang ke 8 aku berpuasa. Kalau diikutkan, sudah habis semua kuganti. Alhamdulillah.

Hmm...aku tau, semua orang disini bukan bermaksud 'semua' tetapi kebanyakan.

Entahlah, aku rasa dah kecik hati, dah patah hati.
Cukup.Tidak lebih dari itu.

Aku pun tak tahu apa nak jadi tahun depan.
Keadaan memaksaku menjadi begini.

Aku dah penat.

Today, as usual, part of my job is to flirt around with the drivers. Did I write flirt? I meant talk to the drivers and get them to do something in addition to what they are doing. (bodek and flirt goes well together..hehehe....)

I was talking to this guy from Kilmarnock and suddenly we were heading to this conversation ;

R: Before I let you go, can I ask you something, my dear (yeah..that's how they like to call me -perasan sat)
Me: Yes sir...why not
R: Are you a Malaysian; I mean really from Malaysia?
Me: (oh no, not again!!) Yes, I am. (Couldn't help myself from laughing). Why? Do I sound like a South African?
R: No my dear. You sound like you are Italian or Spanish. You don't sound like any of your friends that I've met.

OMG!! Now this guy is saying I'm Italian or Spanish.
Life has been very interesting for me lately.
From South African, to Italian, to Spanish ......to an Arab soon...hehehe.....

p/s: Habibi, don't worry ok. I'm loyal to you...;)
